Target protected areas received first vehicles

On May 28 in Mukachevo the eight protected areas of the Carpathians region were provided with ten all-wheel-drive cars within the project “Support to Nature Protected Areas in Ukraine” that is financed by the German Government through Development Bank “Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau” (KfW).

In many cases, protected areas’ employees use private vehicles or cover long distances on foot. This reduces the efficiency and effectiveness of theirs work.

The provided cars will make the work of scientists, eco-education specialists, and other administrative personnel more efficient. It is planned to provide additional 31 pick-up cars in 2021.

Participants of the event include Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Ms. Anka Feldhusen, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Mr. Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi and other representatives of MinEnvironment, Chairman of the Zakarpattia Regional Council Mr. Oleksiy Petrov, Head of the Mukachevo District State Administration Mr. Edgar Tokar, representatives of nature-protected areas, the Project Team and KfW.
