Project to support Protected Areas in the Carpathians resumed

After a longer pause subject to the reorganization of the former Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources which has now led to the establishment of the new Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the Support to Nature Protected Areas of Ukraine (SNPA) resumed its activities.

With the appointment of responsible Deputy Ministers for the project from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Recourses of Ukraine, the project could start with the provision of technical support to the target protected areas again.

Last week a meeting between the members of the project consulting team and representatives of the Ministry took place at the Ministry premises. During the meeting, the members of the project consulting team were introduced to the Deputy Ministers. The main part of the meeting was dedicated to an overview of the project with the achieved results and the following plans for the upcoming months were presented and discussed.

By the end of the year, it is aimed to finally provide the parks with long-awaited uniforms for rangers, cars and motorcycles for patrols are provided. Tenders under the regulation of the German Donor, the Ministry of Economic Co-operation and Development have to be conducted for those purchases.

The implementation of a tender for the development of websites and other communication products for the target areas of the project has begun.
