Violation of environmental legislation such as poaching activities in park territories is a huge threat to their preservation. In the Vyzhnytskyi national nature park, poachers have been using modern technologies to evade park rangers for a long time and therefore manage to spot park workers and escape.
In order to prevent such cases and to increase the efficiency of the state park guard service, a thermal imager, 12 radio sets and three chest cameras were purchased for the institution. Thermal imagers enable better orientation through thick fog and smoke, precipitation and through thick vegetation.
Also, due to the fact that there is a partial lack of mobile phone coverage on the territory of the park, more than 50%, walkie-talkies are necessary for better communication during the performance of official duties and for conducting more effective raids to detect violators of environmental legislation. This will ensure a quick response to various emergency situations, including fires.
